Claims "unmetered" bandwidth in offer post [1] [2] [3], "unlimited" on website [1]. In the past, claimed on their website "unlimited, unmetered bandwidth," (via cached Google snippet) but this is no longer visible.
Offered 10Gbps unmetered bandwidth in offer thread, then changed to a 4TB limit mid-month with no notice to their customers. Limited to 10Mbps after quota exceeded.
They claim unmetered 10Gbps bandwidth. When asked if it was acceptable to use a mere 200TB a month (less than 10% of the advertised limit), they responded with "How much are you planning to pay for that?" - you'd really expect a hosting provider to know their own pricing, no?
We have evidence for Linceris's despicable behavior: when quanphamlc on LET used a mere 35TB of bandwidth in a week, their account was locked and Linceris "stopped responding altogether." It also seems that they are perhaps a bit unclear on their arrangement with their own upstream provider, as they noted that [35TB of usage in a week] has caused DataForest.net to contact us, and we have incurred additional bandwidth costs."
Oh, and Linceris also advertises fake VDS's. "When he says VDS, he means a shared core without a FUP. When most providers say VDS, they mean dedicated cores (usually pinned to physical cores) with no neighbors and thus no neighbor-induced CPU steal." - forest.
CloudBlast advertised 10Gbps unmetered bandwidth in countless posts, replying to nearly every request for unmetered bandwidth. They did respect this promise of unmetered bandwidth for a while, users were able to reach nearly full 10Gbps speed.
After a review thread was posted and users began registering for their services solely for the unmetered bandwidth offer, CloudBlast abruptly changed their policy to charge per TB of bandwidth above fixed limits (5/10TB depending on plan).
While this move was of course fair for CloudBlast, it was done in a way that was dishonest and unfair to their customers. Customers purchased monthly plans at the beginning of the month marketed as "unlimited" bandwidth, only to receive exorbitant charges for bandwidth usage mid-way through the month.
Not only did they change the specifications of their plans mid-month, but they also provided no warning and no period of time to move off their services or shut down instances. The bandwidth changes went into effect immediately. For a customer not awake at the time of the email, this meant that they could have ended up with their credits fully depleted from these charges. Do better CloudBlast, at least give your customers even a few hours of notice!
PulsedMedia
Their unlimited bandwidth plans are capped at 100TB. If you won't provide service over 100TB, don't advertise it as unlimited!
DeluxHost
Cheap yearly plans that claim "unlimited" bandwidth, but not truly unlimited! On their Fair Use Policy, they state that fair usage on VPS and VDS servers is a mere 5-15TB per month, with only 5-10TB per month on promotional offers - these promotional offers nearly always advertised as "unlimited" bandwidth.
But DeluxHost goes further than simply throttling or suspending VPS's which exceed their bandwidth limits. They reserve the right to "[apply] additional charges" and/or "penalties" for excessive usage - usage that is never clearly defined in their FUP. How much would these penalties or additional charges be? We don't know, and they don't tell us. [1]
